Q: Can you purchase the insulation around the coil?
A: While you cannot purchase the insulation from us, you can purchase replacement coils here.
Q: How long do the coils typically last?
A: Each coil can last for at least a hundred uses or more. To ensure that you are getting the most out of your work coil. Try not to heat applications until they are cherry red and leave a little gap between the wall of the coil and the application. This will ensure that the coil doesn’t become brittle, and that the insulation stays intact. For more info, watch this video.
Q: What happens if my coils become blackened and/or frayed?
A: If your coils become blackened and/or frayed they need to be replaced. The insulation will brown and start to burn off the coating on the fiberglass and then it will turn white. Be sure that the copper is not being exposed. Learn more about proper coil usage and maintenance.
